The San Francisco 49ers skid down FedEx Field to celebrate their 9-0 victory over the Washington Redskins, turning a rainy Sunday in October into an outing suited for sunny summer days. Jimmie Ward, Tevin Coleman, Azeez Al-Shaair and free safety D.J. Reed slid on the rain soaked field as fans in ponchos watched, drenched from the downpour.

Cam Inman reported the win live from Landover, Maryland, highlighting Washington’s (1-6) repeated threats to score and Jimmy Garoppolo’s precision passing. Nick Bosa led the way on the 49ers’ celebratory, head-first slide, after his game-ending sack.

Besides remaining undefeated, the game also marked the 49ers’ first shutout since the 2016 season opener against the Los Angeles Rams. As the San Francisco team looks ahead, the unbeaten 49ers will try to secure a seventh straight win against the Carolina Panthers next Sunday.
