One of about 10 motorcyclists who had shut down Interstate 5 in Los Angeles to do stunts was killed in a crash, reportedly while trying to elude CHP officers.
Around 1:35 a.m. Thursday, the group had blocked traffic on northbound I-5 in the San Fernando Valley neighborhood of Arleta, the California Highway Patrol report said. They were performing stunts being recorded on video.
Within five minutes, CHP officers had shown up, and the motorcyclists scattered. One was then reported to be off his motorcycle and unconscious on the Terra Bella Street offramp, the CHP said. He apparently had crashed while attempting to elude the officers.
The rider, described as a man in his 20s, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Terra Bella offramp remained closed for four hours.
