Classic film series
Los Gatos Senior Center will screen the 1948 film “The Red Shoes” on Sept. 25. The film is based on a Hans Christian Anderson story and stars Moira Shearer, Anton Walbrook and Marius Goring. This 2009 digital restoration features an introduction by Martin Scorsese.

Fine art sale
The Blossom Hill Crafts Potters and Artisans hold their Fall Pottery and Fine Art Sale Sept. 28-29 at the History Club of Los Gatos, 123 Los Gatos Blvd. The sale runs 10 a.m.-5 p.m. both days.
Presented by Blossom Hill Crafts, the sale features locally made fine arts and crafts including pottery, woodworking, handmade cards, jewelry, paintings, glass art, gift ideas, and more.

Opera season preview
West Bay Opera, led by general director Maestro José Luis Moscovich, will outline the coming season Sept. 27 at 10 a.m. at the Addison Penzak JCC. Company singers will highlight the Verdi operas “Nabucco,” “Macbetto” and “La Traviata.”

Eat Drink Play
The Los Gatos Chamber of Commerce presents its third annual street festival, Eat Drink Play Los Gatos, on Sept. 28, featuring Los Gatos restaurants, local wineries and craft breweries, boutiques and vendors, as well as live music by Don Olivet, Given to Fly and Wonder Bread 5. A community stage features local talent, and families can enjoy a kids zone.
