The CW fall lineup: A new ‘Charmed’ and final season for ‘Crazy Ex-Girlfriend’

Broadcast television’s reboot craze continues. On Thursday The CW announced a roster of new shows that includes a pair of remakes — “Charmed” and “Roswell, New Mexico.”

“Charmed,” a “reimagined” series inspired by the fantasy drama that debuted on The WB in 1998, will be paired with “Supergirl” on The CW’s new, expanded Sunday-night schedule.

The updated version of “Charmed” will feature Melonie Diaz, Sarah Jeffery, and Madeleine Mantock as the Charmed Ones — three sisters, who after their mother’s death, discover that they have bewitching powers. One can freeze time, one can read the thoughts of others and one has telekinetic abilities.

“Roswell, New Mexico,” a reboot of “Roswell” (1999-2002), will be held until midseason, along with the new drama “In the Dark.”

The CW also announced that three of its series — “Crazy Ex-Girlfriend,” “Jane the Virgin” and “iZombie” will air their final seasons. “Crazy Ex-Girlfriend” will return in the fall, while “Jane the Virgin” and “IZombie” will be held for midseason, along with “The 100.”

Meanwhile, in addition to “Charmed,” the fall schedule features two other new shows in “All American” and “Legacies.” The former stars Daniel Ezra as a high school football standout from Compton who is recruited to join the affluent Beverly Hills High School team by its coach (Taye Diggs). The latter is a spin-off of “The Vampire Diaries” and “The Originals” that tells the story of the next generation of supernatural beings at The Salvatore School for the Young and Gifted.

In schedule moves of note, “Arrow” is being shifted to Mondays.
