The roller coaster paradise Cedar Point has released a point-of-view animation of its soaring new ride on the shores of Lake Erie.
Steel Vengeance, to open next month, is a “hybrid” — steel track on a wooden structure. The first drop is 200 feet at a 90-degree angle. The ride has four inversions and tops out at 74 mph, covering 5,740 feet in 2½ minutes.
Steel Vengeance is the 18th roller coaster at the Sandusky, Ohio, amusement park.
Cedar Point says the ride breaks 10 records, most in the hybrid category. Topping all roller coasters of any type, it claims 27.2 seconds of airtime — weightlessness or negative G forces.
Buckle up and take the virtual ride.
