Police arrested a Castro Valley man on suspicion of breaking into a construction site in Foster City.
Shortly after 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Foster City police received a call from the Gilead Sciences campus reporting a suspicious person wandering around one of the company’s construction sites on Lakeside Drive, the department said in a news release.
Police found John Elvis Toushay, 42, inside a building under construction. Toushay tried to flee but ran directly into officers.
Toushay, who had illegal narcotics on him and an active arrest warrant for grand theft in Walnut Creek, was charged with burglary, possession of burglary tools and possession of a controlled substance, according to police. He was booked into the San Mateo County Jail.
