Rain hit the Bay Area hard early Tuesday morning, and little is expected to change for most of the week.
“A cold front is moving across the region this morning,” said Roger Gass of the National Weather Service in Monterey. “It’s producing rainfall that will likely impact the morning commute.”
Showers will continue into Tuesday night, Gass said, and San Francisco, Oakland and the South Bay can expect half an inch to 0.67 inches in the next 24 hours — on top of an already substantial rainfall.
“In the last 12 hours, we got a quarter-inch in downtown San Francisco,” Gass said.
