BART recovering after power loss delays trains on Antioch line

ANTIOCH — An unexplained power loss led to a major delay on the BART system’s Antioch line, authorities said Tuesday.

Just after 7:30 p.m., BART sent alerts about a 20-minute delay for riders on the line, and said parallel service was available between the system’s Pittsburg/Bay Point and Antioch stations, at Pittsburg Center, via Tri Delta Transit’s 380, 387 and 388 bus lines.

BART upgraded the delay to major at 7:50 before saying the system was recovering moments later, but electricians are en route to make repairs, BART spokeswoman Anna Duckworth said just before 8 p.m..
