A four-vehicle crash caused all eastbound lanes of Interstate 80 to shut down early Monday for about 20 minutes in Richmond, resulting in severe traffic delays during the morning commute, authorities said.
The closure was reported at 6:36 a.m. on the interstate near Carlson Boulevard, according to the Metropolitan Transportation Commission.
By about 7:10 a.m., all lanes were reopened and residual delays were expected.
A silver Acura, black SUV and two other vehicles were reportedly involved in the collision. Tow trucks were on scene clearing the roadway, according to the California Highway Patrol.
