Sully Gets a Heroes Welcome in Danville

Categories: City of Concord Headlines

Chesley Sullenberger came home to a heroes welcome. The City of Danville put together a ceremony to welcome home the man that pulled off one of the most extraordinary water landings in history. The story made headlines around the world and the city he calls home spared no effort to show their appreciation to Sully the pilot of Flight 1549 who safely landed a passenger jet on the icy waters of the Hudson River last week.

News agencies from all over flocked to the event and regular people that came to cheer “Sully! Sully!” in the cold weather took pictures of the event.

  1. Bailey Says:

This man deserves so much and it’s great to see the community showing their appreciation.

  2. Gilligan Says:

It was so nice to see so many people there in Danville to support him. He didn’t get to say very much but I’m sure his story is going to be told in time on a national scale once he goes on the Today show.
