Soliciting Sex at the Concord Hilton

I received a comment over the weekend about the Concord Police blocking off part of the road near the Concord Hilton. “F.Y.I.- Something happened around the Hilton last night. Concord P.D. had Diamond Blvd shut down. You might want to follow-up. I heard they went inside and were searching some of the rooms.”
First thought was that there was some type of drug deal gone wrong or something along those lines but it turns out it was much juicier than that. A woman has been arrested and a man is being sought by investigators after the pair robbed a man who solicited sex on the Internet and met the woman at a local hotel, police said.
The robbery was reported about 6:30 p.m. Saturday at the Hilton Concord Hotel, 1970 Diamond Blvd., said Concord police Cpl. Kerry Cerletti. The victim told police that he went up to a room to meet with a woman he had solicited on the Web site, and after what Cerletti described as their “rendezvous,” they agreed to eat at a restaurant together, he said.
I have made a few posts about how Craiglist is a cesspool for hookers and prostitutes. I don’t understand why someone would actually trust a hooker off of craigslist but I guess there are idiots everywhere. The victim, was robbed of cash and his wallet at gunpoint by a man police have identified as the prostitutes accomplice. He remains at large.
In other news, I guess you could call it a coincidence that the Mayor of Concord is going to give the State of the City at the same location. Turns out she is also charging $40 for admission to the event.

Hold on a second … $40 to see the Mayor of Concord during a recession? What happened to open government? Why not hold the event at City Hall for free? Does the $40 include a happy ending, at least?

I doubt anything about the State of the City will involve a happy ending, and really, would you want Laura Hoffmeister providing that service?

Good job Mayor! I knew there was something crazy going on. CPD had 2 perimeters set up. One around the hotel and the other was a wide one from the 680 to the 242. i could see their main focus was the canal. I heard the suspect escaped down the canal trail.
