I am not sure whether or not the guy shot had the long criminal history, but about 80% of all crime is committed by 20% of criminals, so those police officers did not die in vain, they helped make society a better place. It was an honorable death.

I’m with the RCMP in Canada. We suffered a similar loss at Mayerthorpe, Alberta a few years ago. It is entirely possible for a determined and motivated person, capable with firearms, to cause devastating loss of life – even to trained police officers. I and many of my co-workers share the loss of Oakland PD, and wish for them the strength and resolve to go back out and continue their dangerous, often unappreciated work. Our thoughts are with the Oakland police and the citizens there who share in their community’s tragedy.

This is shocking to the senses. I have to believe this was planned. The Oakland police dept. has a respected academy and training program and yet this animal was able to pull off this level of carnage. Just think what he could’ve done to the average citizen? With this cowardly act this scumbag didn’t only break alot of hearts he stained our souls.
