Girl Scout Cookies – Time to Get Treats!

I’ve been chatting a lot about Girl Scout cookies lately. In fact the Diablo Magazine was asking about them just today. My wife came home with a few boxes and I’ve done my best not to eat them all in one sitting. This is one of my favorite times of year. Like an early Christmas, getting a box of Girl Scout cookies is enough to get me jumping up and down for joy. I was wondering where all the local Girl Scouts were that used to go door to door with their order sheets. Maybe the economy is hindering the cookie sales.

I have a few favorites. Thankfully the Mrs’s likes other ones so that leaves more for me. Here are my choices in order of eatability.
Tagalongs® or Peanut Butter Patties®: These are round cookies with a layer of peanut butter on top, and covered in chocolate. These cookies come in a red box.
Thin Mints: The most enduring and universally familiar Girl Scout cookie. These round, mint-flavored cookies covered with dark chocolate perennially sell the most boxes of any cookie. Thin Mints have never changed their name.
Do-Si-Dos® or Peanut Butter Sandwich: A sandwich cookie. The round, bumpy perforated oatmeal cookie top and bottom surrounds a peanut butter-flavored layer inside.
You can look at all the different choices on their website and see what your favorite yummy Girl Scout cookies is.
Since there doesn’t seem to be the door to door sales there were last year I wanted to know where in Concord I could find Girl Scouts selling the boxes of joy. I found the (not so) secret locations and wanted to share.

Brilliant. Now people are going to give even more places for cookies. Keep them coming!!!

Would have been nice if you put them in order by date but I dont want to be a complainer. I was just talking to some people at work to see if they knew where they were selling them. Putting this online is very helpful.

Actually there is an entire website where you can search for booth sale locations. Girl Scouts are no longer encouraged to go door to door, only to friends, family and close neighbors.. sign of the times I’m afraid. But you can go to:
http://tinyurl.com/b6h97w
or http://www.girlscoutsnorcal.org/ and you’ll find the link to the booth finder

Cathy, it is a sad sign of the times when they dont go door to door. I guess it makes sense though.
For everyone else, make sure you go to one of these locations and get your Girl Scout treats. Support the kids and get some yummy cookies.
