Contra Costa County Will Prosecute Misdemeanors

Recent news was that due to the budget the Contra Costa County DA’s office would have to lay off employees and would therefore be unable to prosecute most misdemeanors in the area. Thankfully to a ‘rainy day fund’ money has been brought into the program. The DA’s office will still need to let go about 6 employees but they will have money to make sure that serious misdemeanors are prosecuted.

    Every “public” agency has a fiduciary responsibility. If the D.A. chose not to prosecute, their liability would go through the roof.
