Robbery and Attack on Elderly Man
CONCORD, CA (January 29, 2009) – Update: The Concord Police Department is continuing to investigate the robbery and beating of a 68 year old man reported widely to area new agencies yesterday.
On Tuesday night January 27th at about 9pm, the victim, a Concord resident walking alone in the area of Clayton Road and Willcrest Drive was robbed of his wallet and MP3 player after being approached and beaten by two unknown suspects. The suspects who were also on foot, acted completely without provocation and without saying a word before they struck the victim with their fists and feet as well as a hard object, possibly a club. While on the ground, the suspects removed the victim’s property from his pockets before fleeing on foot.
This event was witnessed by more than one passing motorist but the descriptions of the suspects by themselves will not result in this case being solved. We need the assistance from the community and anyone who might have also witnessed the attack, or persons who might know the suspects to come forward.

The victim remains hospitalized and in stable condition.

Suspect #1: White male adult, or light skin Hispanic male adult, 25-30 years old, 5’10” to 6’ tall, thin build, short dark hair, wearing white hooded sweatshirt and dark jeans
Suspect #2: White male adult or light skin Hispanic male adult, 25-30 years old, 5’6” to 5’10” tall, medium build, dark jacket

Such a sad story. Someone knows who these people are that did this. Chances are that these criminals have bragged about it to someone. Please help by turning them in.

This is some savage sh*t. This town has gotten downright dangerous! They beat a senior citizen with a club? The CPD should have standing orders to shoot on sight! These types of stories I expect to read coming from Oakland or South Central L.A. not Clayton rd., in Concord. If CPD doesn’t implement some type of a plan to aggressively combat this it will only get worse. Thank god this man wasn’t killed.

He was savagely beaten. He’s lucky to be alive. These types of crimes cannot really be prevented since it really is a bad case of being in the wrong place at the wrong time. The suspect descriptions are too vague and unless someone that knows these two punks has the heart to step forward, they may never be caught.
