And this is no reflection on our Officers I’ve seen and been in situations with these Officers, they exemplify the definition of DUTY. My problem is with the Public Relations side of our Concord PD. Other Police Department's have no problem releasing information on crime activity, it gives a forward awareness for citizen's of and in these cities, while we as Concord resident's are left with crime info equal to JACK SHIT! I will give an example of the last 7 days in my area, 5 vehicles- windows smashed with baseball bats and 2 home- invasion robberies. The vehicle vandalisms were not noted period! The robberies were noted by block and date that's it. Upon calling our CPD they said that's all the information allowed to me as a citizen. I find this more disturbing than the actual acts noted. Were they at gunpoint? Were the resident's home which indicates an even more BRAZEN and DANGEROUS criminal! Were they at night, in the middle of the night, were they in the day. WTFO you figure the abbreviation. This basic info should be provided to us as citizens not for the fear of paranoia but for our AWARENESS and SAFETY! Go to Council meetings an note these concerns in public forum; write the actual Mayor of Concord and the Chief of Police. What this lack of information is truly about is a Public Relations ploy to make our city appear safe for people and businesses looking to move to “That quiet Safe Community" which ultimately PROVIDES TAX REVENUE AND NOT THE SAFETY OF OUR CITIZENS!!!
