Craigslist is great for finding jobs, free stuff and information about your area. There is a dark side to Craigslist few know about and one of those sides is the not so hidden list of available hookers in any given city. Why can’t they be stopped? The answer is pure volume. With the police being reactive to all the crimes they currently have, setting up a proactive group to stop people from selling sex in their city just takes the back burner. Am I being to harsh? There must be a reason for it, anyday of the week I can go to Craigslist in Concord and find a dozen or more “outcalls” (They come to you) being offered.
Sexual services terminology
Like most underwold activity, services and products are listed in codes. Drugs have specific names but the slang terms for them are used most often. Blow, ICE, Purple-Cush, Chronic, Speed, the lists goes on and on. The same applies to sex. Here are some basics.
When looking for services there are a few ways to slice the pie. W4M=Women for Men, M4W=Men for Women, then you have W4W and M4M and even T4W which is transvestites for women. Incalls are you go to them, outcall is when they come to you. It’s amazing to me that there are so many different abriviations being used online that just seem to go unchecked.

Let’s give an example of one I found as I started writing this post. By going to the craiglist section for the east bay and searching in their “Erotic Services“. Yes. Craigslist makes no attempt to hide this in their listings.

$160 dollars an hour for full hour of unrushed services. Could she be talking about laundry services or a massage? I assume since this is in the Erotic Services section it has nothing to do with clothing and only a little bit of massage. Clearly thjis is a solicitation of sex services. I’m not making any phone calls to the number for a few different reasons (greetings echelon) but the internet gave me a few ways to look into this to see what else I could find out.
Using a basic reverse number search I plugged in the phone number listed to see where it would point me. Reverse number services are typically free but there are other services that cost money and can give you additional information. You can see more services like this here. For this particular instance I looked at whitepages.com. The phone number dropped me right in the middle of Four Corners Concord which has been a hot spot for these type of activities.

What is GFE? Those three letters can stand for a number of different things. Prostitutes use the term GFE to indicate they offer a particularly special level of service. I don’t think the CPD has the ability to go after all of these ads. They have a group that does this but they probably work higher up the food chain than just the individual call girls.

I never look at craigslist. I wouldn’t have believed it if I hadn’t looked at the links you had. How can they get away with this?! Now I guess that just adds to the crime problem in the city. No wonder some of these areas are filled with robberies and shootings.

Hey! Turn the heat off of Craig’s List. The last thig we in Concord need is to be waiting for a GFE and instead get a CPDE (Concord Police Department Experience). OUCH!

There are more hookers in Concord. Laguna St, Adelaide St, Ellis St., Detroit Ave and Pine St. as well as Virginia Lane/Monument Bl. The increase in prostitution in Concord can be attributed to many factors.
1)Supply and demand. The prostitutes cater to the Hispanic community in these areas. If there’s lots of supply then there’s lots of demand.
2)Centrally located. Concord is centrally located between Oakland, Richmond, Vallejo and Richmond, making it an attractive spot for hookers from these areas to come and do their business. These areas are also close to BART, providing easy access.
3)Pimps are essentially “reformed” dope dealers, who choose to engage in human trafficking because it is more profitable and less likely to get caught.
The prostitutes are occasionally dropped off by their pimps at Park and Shop and rear parking lots of apartment complexes nearby or they stay at local motels and walk to their strolls. They go door to door soliciting their services.
The prostitutes can vary in age. Many are underage runaways. They are usually black females walking by themselves with a cell phone stuck to their ear (talking to their pimps or other hookers). They are known to occasionally rob and assault their customers. Since many of the customers are illegal immigrants, the crimes are not likely to be reported…and the hookers know it.

Were there is prostitution, there are drugs and drug dealers carry guns. Sounds like Concord has it’s hands full. Has the city ever addressed these issues before. I doubt it!

Craigslist is a great resource for somethings. But I can’t understand why they are so obvious about offering these listings online where they are obviously illegal. I guess someone has to offer erotic services online. Might as well be craigslist.

Lots of things are illegal, that doesn’t make them wrong. Most women are gold diggers anyway, hookers just don’t hide it.

I really don’t care about prostitution. I just don’t want it in the streets. Whatever two people do is their own business. People have sex in exchange for things all the time, and materialistic things are often offered to attract women. (How dare women be called ” gold diggers” when they are often just taking the bait.) I don’t agree with every law. As the oldest profession of all time, it’s never going away. I’m more concerned with child molestors and rapists over a victimless crime. Prostitution alone (ie: no one is harmed) is no different than meeting someone at a club/party/work/outing/gym and hooking up. It’s just a much simpler arrangement, where both parties have the same objective in mind. Just because it’s a law, doesn’t mean it’s bad. It’s the law not to exceed 65 on the freeway, but the flow of traffic on the highways of the Bay Area is comfortably 80 mph, easy. Those who speed can easily cause an injury accident,yet they speed anyway. The guy who is driving safely at 65 mph, that you are given the bird in your road rage fury, might just be trying to make it to his call girl alive.
