Claycord makeover

Looks like the mystery man over at Claycord dot com is making some changes to the site. It’s got to be difficult using the blogger platform without being able to rewrite a new css template from scratch. Blogger doesn’t allow for a whole lot of customization on the look an feel but it is functional and easy to use. That’s why people tend to get started on them as a blogging platform first.
Initially it started with a three column effect adding the recent comments section to the left side. Claycord had asked the readers what they thought of the minor change and it appeared that most the comments were possitive. It definitely makes finding the hot topic easier. But since yesterday when that change took place Mr. Mayor Claycord was busy moving things around like pushing up the RSS link and even putting up a new header in the site. The old header looked good to me but now it’s a bit more bold and in your face than before and that’s a good thing.
He hasn’t posted anything on the new lookso there may be more changes coming but as it stands at this morning, the new layout looks better than the original.

I like the way it looks now vs. before. Much easier to read on my iPhone too.

I guess change is good but I never knew Blogger was limited in customization like you mention. Though I don’t have a blog of my own I thought everyone used blogger. You have to make the best that you have. The new layout at Claycord will take some getting used to but it is a nicer than the last.

I hate it but then again I hardly ever go there anymore anyway. The content is suspect and the professionalism has low standards.

wow. tell me what you really think Johnx.
I’d say the content is really good. Sure there are some things I would question but all in all, the site puts up information and how we take that is up to us.

I bet if the Mayor added an external style sheet it would over ride the blogger styles, would be worth a try.

Yes. With Blogger you can add a custom css sheet but my experience with them is that they can be frustrating since not all the tags match up. Either way, It’s a new face for the blog and that’s always refreshing.
