A couple quick changes to the site have been made.

Bookmark tools: I added a way for you to quickly save and upload bookmarks online. As you can see from the “Favorite Internet Links” section in the sidebar, besides adding YouTube clips I want to share and quick updates on Twitter, I use a couple different bookmarking tool. Using bookmarking tools like Delicious or Digg you can save websites you like easily and then share them with your friends. I’ve added a small bar of different bookmarking tools on the end of each post.

Related Posts from Concord

Over time websites that grow a lot in content seem to have great posts that are lost over time. When you read a story and want to know what else related to the last post is available on the website, where do you look? I’ve added a section of related news posts from Concord at the bottom before the reader comments section. This is also visible on the RSS feed.

Picture comments

This is my favorite.  I had gotten a couple emails asking about how to add a picture for a reader comment. With Blogger, this is done pretty easily by setting up your Blogger profile. WordPress, TypePad and other blog platforms are a bit different. You can get an image that works on any blog that accepts Gravatars.

A gravatar, or globally recognized avatar, is quite simply an avatar image that follows you from weblog to weblog appearing beside your name when you comment on gravatar enabled sites. Avatars help identify your posts on web forums, so why not on weblogs?

I’ve added a reminder to the “Leave a reply” section.

Speaking of replies. Thank you for joining the conversation on the posts. There have been some great comments made so far and some nice additions suggested. There is a rule that all comments are moderated at first and do not show immediately. After you post a comment and it’s approved, all of your next comments will post immediately.

There is now an option at the end of the comment section that allows you to get an email if someone else responds after you. This way if you wanted to be a part of the post conversation you will know when to check back.

CommentLuv is an addition the the blog that lets you show the last post you have on your personal site. I don’t know how many of my comments have blogs of their own but if you want to invite some new readers over, CommentLuv is a great thing to take advantage of. Halfway to Concord has this for his comments.
